Children and adolescents are the future of our country and the hope of our nation. In recent years, due to the popularity of electronic screen products such as mobile phones and computers, as well as the increased burden on primary and secondary school students both inside and outside of class, the myopia rate among children and adolescents in China has remained high and continues to rise. The younger and more severe myopia has become a major issue related to the future of the country and the nation.
With the change of modern lifestyle, the problem of myopia among teenagers is becoming increasingly serious and has become a public health issue that cannot be ignored. In order to effectively prevent and control myopia in adolescents, we need to start from multiple aspects and develop comprehensive prevention and control plans。

1、 Eye habits
Maintain the correct eye posture: When reading and writing, the distance between the book and the eyes should be about 33 centimeters (one foot), the chest should be one fist (6-7 centimeters) away from the table, and the fingertips should be one inch (3.3 centimeters) away from the pen tip. Avoid reading while walking, riding, or lying down.
Control eye usage time: Primary and secondary school students should use their eyes up close for no more than 40 minutes. For younger children, it is recommended to use their eyes for a shorter period of time. After using your eyes for 45 minutes to 1 hour, you should take a brief break, such as looking out or closing your eyes to rest.
Reduce the usage time of electronic products: Avoid prolonged use of electronic products such as televisions, computers, and mobile phones. If needed, maintain a distance from the screen and control the usage time. It is recommended to stop using for 10 minutes every half hour。

2、 Lifestyle habits
Ensure adequate sleep: Ensuring sufficient sleep time helps reduce the burden on the eyes and lower the risk of myopia.
Balanced diet: Eating foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E, such as carrots, tomatoes, leafy vegetables, etc., can help protect eye health.
Increase outdoor activity time: Outdoor activities are the most effective way to prevent and control myopia. It is recommended to engage in outdoor activities for at least 2 hours per day and accumulate more than 14 hours per week。
3、 Regular inspections
Vision screening: It is recommended that teenagers undergo vision screening every six months in order to timely detect myopia problems and take corresponding intervention measures.
Wear appropriate glasses: If you are nearsighted, you should wear glasses of the appropriate degree to avoid exacerbating myopia. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly replace the lenses to ensure accurate readings.

4、 Family and school support
Family environment: Parents should pay attention to their children's eye habits and lifestyle habits, and create a good learning and living environment for their children.
School support: Schools should strengthen visual health education for students, regularly carry out visual screening and health education activities, and improve students' awareness of myopia prevention and control.

In summary, the prevention and control of myopia in adolescents need to start from multiple aspects, including improving eye habits, adjusting lifestyle habits, strengthening vision examinations, and providing support from families and schools. Through comprehensive prevention and control measures, we can effectively reduce the incidence of myopia in adolescents and protect their visual health
